Widow Tree began in 2025 as a small circle of widows meeting for coffee, comfort, and compassion.
What started as a few conversations around a café table has gently grown into a community offering friendship, creative healing, and hope for anyone navigating life after loss.
Founded by Kelly Wing, a widow and mother of four, Widow Tree was born from personal experience and a deep desire to ensure that no one has to walk the grief path alone. Kelly recognised how powerful it can be to sit alongside others who truly understand — to share stories, tears, memories, and even laughter without fear of judgment or pity.
Over time, that simple idea has blossomed into a nurturing network of local meet-ups, online gatherings, and seasonal creative projects — all designed to bring people together in gentle, meaningful ways.
WIDOW TREE
Our Mission
To provide a calm, inclusive space where widows and widowers can connect, share experiences, and rediscover meaning, purpose, and hope after bereavement.
We believe that healing is not about “moving on” — it’s about moving forward with love, courage, and connection.
Our Values
Compassion – We listen with kindness, empathy, and without judgment.
Connection – We believe healing happens in community and shared understanding.
Growth – We gently nurture hope, creativity, and new beginnings at your own pace.
Proudly Supported by the National Lottery Community Fund
Widow Tree is a not-for-profit, peer-led community, and we are proud to be supported by the National Lottery Community Fund. Their funding helps us provide free, compassionate spaces — including our coffee mornings and online meet-ups — so that anyone facing loss can access support without barriers.
With their help, we continue to offer connection, understanding, and hope to those who need it most.
You are not alone.
